¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ at East Liverpool’s Nursing Department and East Liverpool City Hospital recently hosted a Health Fair at the YMCA in Calcutta. The health fair was put on by volunteers from both ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State and East Liverpool City Hospital as a free community service. Senior nursing students in Professor Deborah Hager’s class developed eight stations for the health fair. The health stations were identified through community surveys of health issues in our area during their Community Health Nursing course. First and second level nursing provided education on Atrial Fibrillation, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Stroke, Renal Disease, COPD and CHF. Student volunteers also set up two blood pressure screening tables to provide free screenings for participants.

¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ at Salem held its fall Undergraduate Research Conference, an event that recognizes students for their research and allows them to share what they learned through discussions with the academic staff.
The conference is open to all undergraduates in any discipline and in any for-credit course on any ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State campus.
