When Kellie Miley graduated from Rootstown High School in 2008, she is the first to admit she was not ready for college. In high school, she barely cracked a book yet managed a 3.2 grade point average (GPA).

Getting by with little effort changed when she started as a freshman at ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´. By the end of the year, Ms. Miley found herself academically dismissed for poor grades.

Another October, another Columbus Day.

New Administrators and Appointments

Tatyana Ragon has witnessed firsthand the good that can come from a bad situation. Once, she felt broken.

On Friday, Oct. 19, six more names were added to the elite group of ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ faculty members who have been awarded the Alumni Association’s Distinguished Teaching Award and the University Teaching Council’s Outstanding Teaching Award.

The Center of Pan-African Culture is currently accepting enrollment and seeking new faculty and staff volunteers for the Fulani Institute of Academics and Arts (FIAA), a creative and cultural enrichment institute designed to critically and creatively empower young people to be change agents in their communities and beyond.

¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. at the ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ Student Center Kiva.

This semester, ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´â€™s School of Fashion Design and Merchandising, an Ohio Center of Excellence, added a new graduate-level educational experience to its nationally and internationally ranked offerings.
