This program discusses how the shootings at ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ on May 4, 1970, and Jackson State, where students from both institutions were shot and killed, fit within the larger societal issues of race and violence against protestors at that time. This event also explores the establishment of Black United Students at ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ and their ongoing legacy of activism. ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´â€™s long-standing relationship with the Tuscarawas County University Branch District to administer the Tuscarawas Campus of ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State will continue through June 30, 2030, in a new 10-year agreement approved by the ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State Board of Trustees. The contract was approved at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting, which was held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Tuscarawas Campus.
