�þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ�’s annual Veterans Day observance will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC programs.

�þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State to Honor Veterans on Nov. 9

�þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Veterans Club, will be the guest speaker.

All are invited to come and pay tribute to America’s veterans. A special invitation is extended to �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.

A reception in the �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� Student Center Kiva lobby will follow the brief program. In the event of inclement weather, the rain location will be the �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� Student Center Kiva.

Governor Appoints Renato Camacho to �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Board of Trustees

Renato “Ren” Camacho of North Canton, Ohio, has been appointed to the �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. Camacho, who currently serves as president and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport, brings expertise in both economic development and aviation to the �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Board.

Some of the nine �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� students who were studying at the Paris American Academy are returning home today, and others are expected to travel home tomorrow. A few are staying longer in Europe for various personal reasons. �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State’s Office of Global Education remains in contact with all the students to support their needs, including providing counseling services. Currently, none of the students are interested in speaking with the media. # # #

All �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Students Accounted for in Paris Explosion

An explosion occurred today in a building in Paris, France, that housed the Paris American Academy, where nine �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� students, plus faculty and staff are located. All �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State students have now been accounted for and are safe. News reports indicate a gas leak may be to blame for a blast that sent more than two dozen people to the hospital.

Adjustment to December 2025/January 2026 Closure Schedule

Dear �þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� Faculty and Staff,

�þ��ҹ��ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State has made a minor revision to its winter closure schedule for the current year. The university will close as previously scheduled on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at 10:30 p.m., with offices now set to re-open on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

Thank you for being engaged this Open Enrollment season. Maybe you took a few minutes to just review your benefit plans or maybe there were important changes to make and you took the time and opportunity to do so. With that being said, we had over a 77% participation rate in Open Enrollment.

Over the next few weeks, the Benefits team will be finalizing the Open Enrollment process and completing tasks to ensure all updates are in place for a Jan. 1, 2026 effective date.
