Celebrating 50 Years in Florence, Italy
Fifty years after a handful of architecture students first studied in the city, the ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ Florence Center now hosts hundreds of ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State students annually, serving as the university’s flagship study abroad and international center.
Family Creates Scholarship in Son’s Memory
Timothy Mikes, ’17, MPH ’23, was a College of Public Health (CPH) graduate student committed to public health and a champion for the autistic community and students with learning disabilities. A new scholarship created by his family will support future CPH students.
First-generation Student Finds Purpose
Blaine McCurdy joined ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State’s Rising Scholars program in sixth grade after learning about the program and its opportunities for a college education in Columbiana County. Blaine, who is a first-generation college student, is studying psychology at ¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State Salem.
Crawford Hall Commemorative Beam Signing
A commemorative beam signing event was held in April for Crawford Hall, the new home for the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship. The beam was signed by university leadership, the college’s National Advisory Board and building project donors.
Roe Green, MA ’80, To Receive Honorary Degree
¾Ã¾ÃÎçÒ¹ÐßÐßÓ°ÔºÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ State’s Board of Trustees will award Roe Green, MA ’80, a Doctor of Humane Letters honorary degree in recognition of her contributions to the university and her advocacy for the arts in Northeast Ohio, the nation and around the world.
Student Success Priority Exceeds Goal
The Forever Brighter campaign’s Prioritizing Student Success initiative now stands at $142 million, surpassing the $100 million goal set at the campaign’s outset in October 2021. This will enable the university to offer more financial assistance to students in need.
