Students coming to �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State and, for some of them, living away from home for the first time can struggle with the transition. The transition can even be more difficult for LGBTQ+ students, particularly for those who have recently "come out." Ken Ditlevson, director of �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State's LGBTQ+ Center, talks about the many resources available at �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� to support them.

The two-hour Mental Health Campaign kickoff, which was held in the �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� Student Center Ballroom on Tuesday, Oct. 10, was well attended by the �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State community. 

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State and the city of �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� encourage people to attend any of the LGBTQ+ events on campus and downtown this week. 

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ�'s Main Street Bridge has been accumulating expressions of love for nearly a decade. 

Oct. 10 is the deadline for registering for this November’s election.

While the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has experienced changes over the years, the upcoming 2024-25 FAFSA year will introduce significant changes for students and families. These changes may have implications for students and their ability to gain access to federal financial aid.

Jason Werstler, a 2001 �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� graduate who majored in education, is one of 25 teachers across the nation who were recently recognized for teaching excellence. He teaches construction at Massillon Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio.

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State's Student Accessibility Services is celebrating October as Disability Awareness Month, with events and activities to spread the word to students that they are not alone in their struggle and that help is available. 

Thursday October 5 - Sunday October 8 is Fall Break at �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State. 

While completing a two-month journalism fellowship in Arizona the summer after her college graduation, Anna Huntsman, ’19, found herself nostalgic for Ohio.

“I was around a lot of people from all across the country,” she remembers. “They would ask me, ‘What’s so special about Ohio?’ and I would have this answer about the camaraderie, the sports, the work ethic. I just found myself having these answers of really missing my home.”

The new Distracted Driving law makes it illegal to use or hold a cellphone or electronic device in your hand, lap or other parts of the body while driving on Ohio roads.
