Last Friday, students got a guided tour of the Herrick Conservatory,  home to diverse and exotic greenery on the �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� Campus. 

Nearly 40 people from the �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State community enjoyed a tour of the flowers and trees of Front Campus during part two of the “Walk & Talk: Flowers and Foliage” event, thanks to the Employee Wellness and Health Promotion program and the grounds crew.

Every Friday, the �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State community can come together to create poetry and share a more vulnerable side of themselves at the Wick Poetry Center. The Wick Weekly poetry writing workshop brings students together to help develop them as poets and create a community of creatives.

Twice each semester, �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ�’s Division of Research and Sponsored Programs hosts Research & Innovation Forums, to bring together faculty members to publicly present their ongoing work. 

Alumni brewers at Sibling Revelry Brewing have created �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Golden Lager - the official craft beer of �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Athletics. 

Molly Merryman, Ph.D., associate professor in �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State’s School of Peace and Conflict Studies, and Lauren Vachon, assistant professor in �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State’s LGBTQ studies program and coordinator of the LGBTQ studies minor program, were instrumental in obtaining a $35,000 grant from the U.S. Department of State for the project Resilience During the Pandemic: LGBTQ+ Stories.

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� has received a five-year renewal of the the McNair Program grant. This program helps put first-generation students, like Brian Johnson, Destiny Ezeliora and Imani Reynolds on the path to doctoral degrees. 

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� is celebrating a 17.7% increase in international student enrollment this year, due in large part to increases in international graduate student admissions.

Antarctica's "doomsday glacier" has been making headlines for its rapid melting, which could lead to large rises in sea levels much earlier than experts originally observed. In addition, "zombie ice" has been reported in Greenland, which unfortunately is not a "Game of Thrones" reference, but more rapidly melting ice sheets that will impact sea levels. To find out more about these headlines related to the climate, we reached out to Cameron Lee, assistant professor in the Department of Geography.
